THE MALTESE JOB

• It was a normal day in the office, emails, phone calls and sorting out the work for the shop floor, then the phone call came
• Good morning Cordtape Nottingham how may we help?
• Yes, can you come out to do a measure for me please ?
• Yes Sir that’s not a problem, if you would like to give me the details of what you require and where and when you would like the team to come out to for the measure, then we can get you booked in.
• There was a slight pause and a bit of a laugh in there somewhere, then the guy says,
• Are they able to travel any distance to do this?
• Yes sir not a problem.
• OK then, can they come out to Malta to measure for an engine room on a Yacht?
• Slight pause now on our part, yes sir I don’t think that would be a problem, the team are out at the moment but as soon as they come in we will let them know and they will get back to you for further information if that is ok with you.
• Yes that’s fine, but we do have a bit of a time frame on this so as soon as they can please would be great.
• Yes sir no problem they will get back to you today, thank you for your call and we will be in touch.

MALTA HERE WE COME

• So when the guys come in the first words are, do you have a passport and is it in date
• Why?
• Well you are off to Malta.
• After the stop messing about banter in the office, it was down to the serious side of things and the guys got in touch with our gentleman about the job and it was all business from there on. Arrangements were made passports checked, bags packed and away they went to Malta. They returned after a few days with all the measurements for the thermal insulation jackets that were required for the engine room, so quotes and drawings all done and details sorted out with the customer for delivery or fitting if required.
